September When It Comes

Johnny Cash (February 26, 1932 - September 12, 2003)

I always thought it was eerie that Cash, in the spring before he passed, sang this duet with daughter Roseanne, in different studios, across the country from each other, practically foretelling the month of his death.

The Man in Black was one of our greatest poets; here's a video I put together of him singing his soul out as usual. In the end, his voice faltered a bit but his honesty remained unflinching.

A toast to J.R. Cash...and Roseanne who so ably carries the torch...
